RECONDITIONING PROGRAM for Star Transfermatic Double Spindle Brake Lathe
Star Machine & Tool will recondition your Star Model 53-S Transfermatic Double Spindle brake Lathe and return it to you with a NEW STANDARD WARRANTY.
The work is done at Star's Repair and Reconditioning Center, so a quick turn-around time is guaranteed to minimize your down time. The reconditioning includes:
- The lathe is completely disassembled and all parts are inspected.
- All bearings and bushings are replaced
- Carriage lead screw and lead screw nut is replaced
- The spindle IDs are reground for arbors
- Carriage and carriage gibs are re-scraped
- Cross slides and cross slide gibs are re-scraped
- Vari-Drive unit is cleaned, inspected and tested with a new cog belt installed
- All plated parts are replated
- Lathe is re-assembled and tested

- Calibrations - Set tool bits, boring bars, lineup pointer bar, lineup plate and dial indicator to factory specifications
- Adjustments - Adjust arbors, carriage, cross slides and spindle speed to to factory specifications
- Training - Covers proper calibration, operation, lubrication and mounting of shoes and drums on the lathe
- Inspection - Look for missing, broken and worn parts and make recommended list for replacement
- Minor Repairs - Oil changes, replacement of external parts, change belts
