The Star Model 2010 is not a combination lathe.  Literally it is two lathes in one. It resurfaces discs on the left side and resurfaces drums on the right side. The dual spindle Model 2010 is a new concept in brake lathe engineering.  It is the only dual purpose lathe made utilizing a massive one-piece housing.  This 2000-lb. iron casting houses the motor, gear case, controls and spindle drives that are shared by two separate lathe operations.  The enormous strength of the 2010 provides rigidity, precision and service life unmatched by competitive units. The Star Model 2010 is twice as strong and twice as heavy as ordinary heavy-duty drum lathes The Model 2010 turns the largest wheel assemblies without outboard support and without affecting performance It is 2000 lbs. of iron casting that is bored, milled and machined to be a one piece-precision housing with no bolts to loosen, no welds to crack. 3 HP gives the Model 2010 enough power to make a finish cut on the largest drum in one pass.  The dual spindle design allows simultaneous drum and disc set up, with no change-over necessary.
